Sao Pedro is THE place for windsurfing. It is not uncommon get many days with winds around 25 knots. The reason: the trade winds that blow from November until the end of June are accelerated by a Venturi-effect.
- Sao Pedro for the strongest winds and is good for flat water blasting. Please note: the wind is off-shore so for advanced riders only. The spot has a windsurf center with up to date equipment for rent.
- Salamansa is good for wave-riding but only works when the winds are stronger than usual.

Marc, one of the Kitesurf Cabo Verde consultants is a keen windsurfer. From the 80’s onwards, he has been exploring new spots around the word. In looking for spots with perfect wind conditions for a large part of the year, Cabo Verde seemed to be one of the best. Of all the islands, Sao Vicente is the prime place for flat water blasting.
